We have launched JAHBOY's new album on the 2 September in New Caledonia. Rebelle Inc will distribute internationally and Mangrove Studios will distribute physical copies in New Caledonia. We were going to launch an EP but now have decided to do a 12 song album instead for the fans. Three unreleased video clips will also be released.
The name of the album is called "The Red Album". The songs on the album will link with the meaning/feelings associated with the colour red. So expect some big tunes of love, hurt, energy, frustrations, sexiness, teasing, regret, passion etc...
JAHBOY is one of the most versatile reggae artists currently out there. And in true JAHBOY fashion, every song on the album will have a different style but all influenced by reggae except for one song; a surprise to mess with ya lol.
From old school to new school. From ballads to pop to dupstep. From roots to fusion to slow to fast dance hall. The album has been inspired by reggae. Were going to take you on a musical journey in sound and lyrics.
Some fans may be shocked and others maybe pleasantly surprised. But throughout all the different styles, JAHBOY's distinctive voice resonates strongly. Put your headphones on or turn up your speakers, and just enjoy the ride.
The Red Album is part of a trilogy of releases. We will be releasing 2 more albums in the next 12 months, be them in the form of mix tapes, EP's, LP's or Albums. We will let you know once JAHBOY gets back from his 6 country touring.
But we can confirm the name of these next two projects will be called the "Yellow" EP/LP/Album (With more uplifting and fun songs) and the "Green" EP/LP/Album (With more thoughtful and insightful songs).
Anyone notice the three colours? Its all about reggae my brothers and sisters. But we're just making our love of reggae with a meaningful twist.
Moreover, once you buy all three projects, the cover artworks actually become a triptych. When you put them all together, they actually form one whole art piece. So if you're into collecting music, this one idea is dedicated to you!
Too many times nowadays its all about the download (legal or illegal). Lets take it back to the good old days where music and artwork covers meant something!
So if you love music. Put some money aside from today and come 2nd September, purchase a copy of the Red Album.
Digital copies are available on iTunes and other digital distributors. Physical copies outside of New Caledonia, just contact Rebelle Inc.
